Distance: 0.20 Miles The Charles Dickens Museum Charles Dickens lived in Doughty Street in his twenties and it was here he worked on his first full-length novel, The Pickwick Papers, and later Oliver Twist and Nicholas Nickleby. Pages of the original manuscripts are on display, along with many original items of furniture and personal belongings in this, the only surviving London home of Charles Dickens Distance: 0.36 Miles Sir John Soane's Museum Sir John Soane was responsible for some of the most splendid architecture in London, and his house, built in 1812, contains his collections of antiquities, sculpture, paintings, drawings and books. Amongst his treasures are the Rake's Progess and Election Distance: 0.26 Miles Conway Hall series of chamber music with concerts held most Sundays from October to April.
