This theatre was opened in January 1884 and was demolished in 1937 to make was for the larger present theatre. Currently showing 'Mamma Mia!'. Distance: 0.25 Miles Queen's Theatre The Queen's Theatre was designed as a twin to the Globe Theatre (now called the Gielgud Theatre). On the 24 September 1940 a bomb fell on the theatre destroying the entire front of house area along with the rear stalls! Currently showing 'Les Miserables'. Distance: 0.22 Miles piccadilly circus Piccadilly Circus tube station is on the Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines, at the corner of Shaftesbury Avenue and Regent Street. It is a short walk away from The Trocadero Centre, Lilywhites and Fortnum and Mason, as well as many well-known theatres, including The Apollo Theatre, Her Majesty's Theatre and The Lyric.
